We reach out to people of all refugee and migrant backgrounds; we provide access to a support network; we enable successful participation and inclusion for an enriched and diverse Australia.About the positionPosition PurposeThe Planned Activity Group (PAG) Activity Assistant will assist with creating a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for clients and providing care and support to clients; setting up and running activities; encouraging client participation; assistance with meals; assistance with transport and other duties  as directed by the Program Coordinator to ensure the program meets its objectives, in particular meeting the needs of clients.Assist the Group Facilitator in providing a comfortable, safe and welcomingenvironment for clients.Ensure clients' individual and cultural needs are addressed.Encourage client participation in the program planning by respecting individual’s culture, interests, and abilities.Consult with carers and other service providers as required regarding clientneeds.Provide personal care and assistance to PAG clients as required.Assist with transport as required and assisting on and off the bus.Monitor general health and status/incidents.Assist with preparation of meals and tea breaks, including cleaning up after meals, following food guidelinesTo be considered for this position, you will have:Certificate III in Aged Care or Certificate III in HACCKnowledge and experience in working Planned Activities GroupDemonstrated experience, knowledge and understanding of elderly clients and the ability to work and communicate effectively.Ability to relate to elderly clients with a caring and respectful approach, in anequal and non-judgmental manner.Relevant experience in Aged Care.Good communication skills including oral and writtenWe recognise the rich diversity of people across Australia.
